Natural Hair & Skincare Products I’m loving| May Favourites

It’s that time of the month again where I get to talk about my favourite natural hair & skincare products of the month in a YouTube video. This month, my list of favourites were focused on moisturising natural hair products and skincare products I’ve been using consistently. Being in quarantine has really revived my love for self-care. This month’s favourites are  all worth talking about and sharing.

Watch my May 2020 Favorites video and shop the products in the links below. Of course, if you haven’t already, subscribe to my YouTube channel.

All products mentioned

Hair Mayonaise

Hands down one of the best protein treatments for natural hair in the market. As a naturalista, I am always looking for products that help retain length, volume and growth. This product is affordable and it lasts forever. I’ve been using this for years now! It’s great especially if your hair is feeling dry and brittle.

As I am Double buttercream

The DoubleButter cream is so soft and has the perfect consistency. It’s not too heavy and it’s not too light for my low porosity hair. It does a good job sealing in moisture, feels good, and smells great.

Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask

When it comes to moisturising natural hair, Camille rose will always be my go-to. This deep conditioner is absolutely amazing for infusing that much-needed moisture in my curls. Not only does it smell yummy but it has great slip and makes detangling a breeze!

Aunt Jackie’s Coconut Crème Recipes Butter Crème

I’ve recently been reaching for this a lot more often, I love using this leave-in to twist my hair or to put it in a protective style as it really helps to hold in that moisture.

Microfiber towel

May made me really appreciate my microfiber towel! I was getting a bit lazy and started reverting back to using an old -t-shirt which meant my hair didn’t dry as quick which is ok but I definitely noticed the difference between drying with a t-shirt vs a microfiber towel.

One of the benefits of microfiber towels for natural hair is that they can help to limit frizz as you dry your hair, the smoother microfiber material creates less friction on your strands.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Kit Matte liquid lipstick and lip liner Echelon

I love rocking nude and soft pinks, combined with a brown lip liner and some lipgloss its a win-win!

Mac Chesnut lipliner

NYX Professional Makeup Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Polis

False lashes

I’ve mentioned these lashes in my recent amazon essentials post. I love these because they are more affordable than the Ardell lashes, comes with a tweezer and disposable mascara wands. The lashes are natural glam wispies that’s easy to apply and does not scream “falsies”

Makeup Revolution Highlighter palette similar

I’ve had this highlighter palette for some time but I only ever reach for it during the summer months when I want the extra glowy look. This palette is really affordable, pigmented and looks great on brown/dark skin.

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

This cleanser has made several appearances on my blog and Youtube. It’s slowly becoming one of my favourite skincare products of all time. I talk more about it in this post HERE.

L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Detox Face Mask

I am absolutely in love with this detox mask!  I noticed results from the first use. It’s a great size, goes on so easy and dries in about 10 minutes. This clay mask smells absolutely divine and simply wipes away with water.

Magnitone WipeOut Cleansing Cloth

Ever since discovering cleansing cloths, I have dis-owned makeup wipes. Ok… I joke but if you don’t own a cleansing cloth you are missing out. This removes my make-up without any fuss just by adding water, especially waterproof mascara and tough lipsticks.
