A girl can never have too many lipsticks! At least that’s what I like to tell myself when I get the urge to purge on new makeup. I literally have this obsession with liquid lipsticks. Last month, I had the perfect excuse to stack up on my growing collection, since my good friend was in New York and kindly offered to get a few color pop lipsticks for me. I searched online for different shades, However, I was so overwhelmed by the vast variety of colors that I sunk right into my comfort zone sticking to reds, burgundies, and pinks.
I’m going to swatch and give you all my thoughts and first impressions.

Let’s move unto the swatches
Limbo A dark chocolate brown color This is the first brown lipstick I’ve ever owned! I was so excited to add this to my growing collection. I thought it was really fitting for the fall season. The Pigmentation is amazing and I love the rich texture of the product; it’s so easy to apply and even out. However, it’s pretty drying to the lips that’s why I make sure to moisturize properly before usage.
Mamacita The boldest formula of all liquid lipsticks tried – in one smooth swipe, you’ll get the intense color payoff that dries down to a super matte, transfer-proof finish. This color looks fabulous on every skin tone, especially dark skin. I believe this was a collaboration with a popular blogger iluvsarahii
Pearl Next DoorPearl next door is a gorgeous oxford red that will give you that beautiful vampy fall look. Initially, I thought it was a deep pink shade but upon application, I discovered i’m a terrible judge of color. The ultra-matte lipsticks are known to be drying so I recommend exfoliating the lips with a sugar scrub, patting dry, adding a lip balm, then applying the lipstick.
Season 10 Matte LipstickThis was also another color pop collaboration with blogger Makeup by Shayla. it’s a rich red with subtle, cool undertones and a flat, matte finish. This is really vibrant and perfect for the holidays. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly over my lips.
London FogI originally thought this was a pink shade but it’s actually a ‘pinky red’ color and it is indeed a stunning strawberry red shade. The application when first applied is satiny but it then turns matt as it dries later.
Tulle – A dusty mauve burgundy liquid lipstick I discovered this color on Pinterest and I couldn’t wait to try it. I have no idea what colour this is so I googled it and this is what they describe it as ‘Ultra Matte is a medium-dark, neutral-to-warm plum-red with a matte finish’. This Lipstick seemed to “crack” a little more after the dry down than some of the other shades. regardless, it’s still a beautiful shade and a favorite.
BumbleColourpop describes this as a warm dusty terracotta. My impression was wow! This may be a bit too bright for my skin tone, it’s a little outside of the of my comfort zone. However, the formula glides on smoothly without any pull or tug and dries super fast. It adheres to the lips like glue and you really have to make sure you apply properly or else it will end up looking patchy.
These ultra-matte Colorpop liquid lipsticks are really impressive, the colors are vibrant and quick to dry. I will be rocking these shades for the remainder of winter. If you follow me on Instagram then you don’t even need to ask what lipstick I am wearing.
